Since I am considering adding CE to my list of things to consider developeing skins for, I was wondering what everyone is willing to pay for custom jobs, pre-mades that are widely used, pre-mades that are sold once.

Typically I do forum skins around these prices.

Custom: $100-$300
pre-made (template style): $35-$100
pre-made(unique): $50-$200

Im not sure how many of you would consider this outrageuous, or what. Those are example prices, as I have yet to get CE and see what is realyl involved in skinning it. Those are just prices I charge for forum skins on things like vB and IBF.

I really would like to guage intrestest and budgets before comitting myself to really digging into CE.

Nope. I can't say that I would pay for a CE Skin.

Sorry, I know I don't speak for everyone, but will most likely make my own. But you never know. Good luck.

I would pay for a skin only if it came with free updates as CE updates, otherwise if it's broken after an udpate, I wasted my money.

I doubt I'd be willing to pay more than $20 for a skin.. and I doubt anyone would do them that low!

As kmsd said, I'd also need to be guarnateed free updates for a year or something like that, so I know it would work!

Alright thanks all. Well with those that said they would buy one, but wanted support through upgrades, would make it more expensive. Plus I have yet to look into the skinning of CE, so I guess this isn't even worth persuing, as skinning is very time consuming, then to keep it up to date for custom jobs is ongoing time that would have to be placed in the initial price, and not know the exact changes CE will go through could mean that one update could require the entire skin be re-done (much Invision Power Board skins, when they released 1.2)

So, thanks all, but I will stick to a parket place that still is willing to pay for what they get, this as a market place seem to tight in pockets. As hosting is one of my things as well, I can't much blame anyone, as I can't even make a 10% return on my money do to competition drilling their prices way below costs in hope of drawing a huge crowd and overselling their servers.

Maybe after CE has become really popular I can try again to see is there is a market here, but right now don't think so. Thanks again.
