Hey

Currently working on my new template and would like to get some feedback to what you think. Its not finished but sometimes getting feedback helps.

I am totally redesigning my web site and I am starting with CE first and working outward. So feedback is appreciated.

I have a copy of CE (v1.0) set up as a Demo version to "play with"

You can check it out at this URL:My DEMO CE Template Link (http://cs.thekartcompany.com/cedemo)

username & passord is: password

Thanks for your feedback

Looks very neat and fits well into your current logo and site layout.

Looks terrible RnR.. lol. Just joking.

I like the color scheme. Which files do you edit to change the actual control panel? I haven't tried to tackle this yet, but hoping to do so shortly.

Very nice R-n-R. As a note...i see the admin button where it suppose to be as well asthe account summary section (which are generally for admin only sections). I don't knowif you have anything planned for those, but it looks good so far. Good job. :)

Looks pretty slick! Only one thing : http://cs.thekartcompany.com/cedemo/index.php?fuse=4 ... The top left corner of the viewing active invoices section.. it's purple! Looks like there may have been a CSS class not edited maybe or something like that.

I like it a lot :-).
In the next few releases hopefully the css will get cleaned up for easier editing and maybe some forum members will make some designs for us. Or possibly be available to make custom designs for purchase.

That's already something in the work as far as I am concerned, and I am sure a few other members planned around that if the quality of their work is any indication. :)

Coolness, beyond the free ones made, anyone have any clue on pricing structure?

I have no idea.. I don't think there will be too many people out there tunning multiple instances of CE at the same time so the pricing structure can't really be based on the Cpanel themes system (price for 1 server, 2 servers, 3 servers, 4 servers and unlimited servers).

So I'm guessing a one-time flat rate depending on the theme is almost the best way to go. Haven't really given this much thought yet.

I'd probably sell themes by flat rate per license...

Thought, I wouldn't be willing to be the first person to set that price. It's be my luck i'd under price and the whole community would be pissed at me...or i'd over price and and make no sells. :P

(And I make a big assumption that any would sell at all. :D)

LOL, can't be that much either taking the theme for CE by default is pretty cool and CE is only $99.00 :-).

Actually, that reasoning is a bit off if you look at it this way:

-phpBB is free, yet there are themes sold out there.

-vBulletin is 160$ for an owned license, yet there are some themes out there that are nearly that price.

-DRAMS is 60$ for the license. Yet I don't think I'll be selling themes at 10$ just to make up for that fact.

A theme's value comes from the time and work that went into making it in my eye, not from the price the original product you are theming is going for. This can be a factor in keeping things in perspective, but underselling your work is never something I advise people to do. And since buying themes is not something that the end-user absolutely has to do, the fact the price may be in the 60$ range or something should not affect those who don't really need them or want them all that much.

It's just me rambling. :D

Hey Guys

Thanks for the feedback.

I would like to personally take credit in the design, but I can't , I realiazed long ago there are people out there a lot better than I when it comes to design :D I am having my design guy do the work.

TXO, I sent your question over to my guy so hopefully he can give me a answer in his spare time. I will post it when I hear back on that.

I can tell you this $99 for the CE software is really nice price. In regards, to what it is costing me for a Custom Template Design I am paying $150. My designer first looked at the project and said it was going to be a little tricky, and he is learning CE while working on my site. He isnt finished yet. One concern he and I had was future upgrades to CE, to make sure the Template will work with those upgrades.

In regards to purchasing prebuilt templates, I would say somewhere in the $50 to $75 dollar range wouldn't be out of hand.

In my mind a price of around $30-50 is what i was considering. I think this would be a very reasonable price for a template that was well done. :)

Looks cool :)

However...... am I the only one who thinks CE looks pretty sexy as it is from default install? :D
