I would love to see all the HTML overhauled to (x)HTML, but I think at least valid HTML4 would be a step up :)

Not only will you future proof your app, but it makes it easier on people who want to customize their installations.

Yes, this is a bigger task then it seems. But plans are in the works.. Just don't expect until closer to end of year. Thanks for the concern we are well aware of the need to clean that up.
